Let me tell you why this Man is AMAZINZG! He has so much patience and faith! (something I greatly struggle with at times) And even if he didn't feel like he did, he always fooled me so that I wouldn't panic or be let down!
After almost 7 long months Ryan has finally been able to start work again! We had been holding out for this job with the FAA since about December of last year but was unsure when the job would be posted and available to apply for, and just when we didn't expect it (like anyone does really) he was suddenly laid off from a job that we thought had somewhat of some security. He would apply for jobs here and there, and would be called out for interviews but usually recieved a phone call saying they had filled the position. Finally Ryan applied for a job, and the company called saying they really really wanted him! We were so excited and after some time to think about it he (we) decided to accept it! Well after we accepted the job we both had this terrible feeling and didn't know why! Well about a week before Ryan was about to start this new job he recieved a call from the FAA wanting to interview him! WHAT!
We had been waiting for over 7 months to receive this phone call and had even turned down a few jobs in the process just in the hopes that they would call (and I know we were crazy mad too)! Then when he is finally ready to start new employment they decide to finally call us? Well we decided that maybe this was why we had such a sick feeling about this other job he was about to start! After a very long day of fasting, temple, and prayer we made another decision to call the company who had just recently hired Ryan and he told them that he couldn't accept the job! We felt terrible, but didn't feel right about him starting this new job and then in a few weeks quiting. We felt it would be wrong and dishonest to a good company. ( I have to say they were very disappointed, but in the end we welt we did the right thing, however we still felt terrible!). After we made that phone call we were informed that Ryan was the FAA's top choice for hire, and that was for over 65 applicants including veterans (the government hires veterens first over civilians)! We couldn't believe it and were anxiously awaiting a phone call to tell him when he could start! Well.....we waited, and waited and waited but still no phone call! WTF (sorry, but that was what I was thinking)! We were told Ryan was there first choice and his name was submitted for the hire but still no phone call. We found out that they had a hiring freeze! And until that hiring freeze was lifted Ryan couldn't start work! ARGGGGG! Finally about a month after Ryan interview they finally called and told him he was there top choice for the job and they wanted him to start ASAP, but ASAP would be after background checks and a TON of paper work! (it is the government were talking about here)! So Ryan started today, Monday Septeber 25th! Such a great day!
I think out of everything we have been through in the 6 1/2 years that we have been married this has been the greatest trial, but also the greatest blessings of our lives! We were able to spend so much time together as a family and become so close! I love you Ryan! Thank you for always being the most AMAZING husband, best friend, and worthy priesthood holder! I don't deserve to have you! (however Maggie does!) Love you always and forever! Emily
