Chris and Melonie's Fabulous Wedding Day

Well what can I say that isn't in the title of this post? It was a fabulous day! Chris (my big brother) and Melonie (my new sis in-law) got married on the 1st of July!

Melonie's dress was AMAZING and she made it herself! She is an incredible seamstress and that is her profession for a living! Congrats to Chris and Mel! We are so happy to have you be part of our family!

The days events went as follows:
Friday July 1st was the wedding day. It was actually nice to have it spanned out over a couple of days because we weren't rushing to set things up or get things done.

My sweet girl!

Me and Chris!

All the siblings! We loved having my sister and her family up for the wedding! It was so great to be in the temple with almost all my siblings! And for all of us to be together again!

(Notice how Maggie is staring at Ryan? You can tell she is already embarrassed of her parents!)

Saturday July 2nd was the reception day!

This is how the party began,

And this is how it ended!

Once again we love you Chris and Mel and are so happy for you both!

Last minute trip to Island Park!

Ryan and I took a very last minute trip to Island Park last week! I didn't realize that I didn't have to work the rest of the week after Tuesday since my students were on a break, so we headed up after work! I LOVE last minute trips! They always seem more fun because of how sporadic they are!

We almost didn't go however because my poor Maggie was sick the day before (throwing up and the runs)! She seemed to be feeling much better Tuesday morning so we decided to still go! Well.....about 2 1/2 hours into our drive (right after I changed her diaper at a stop) she started acting up and was really fussy then simultaneously Ryan and I both got a whiff of a pretty potent stench! Luckily the nearest rest stop was only a few minuets away!

When we stopped I pulled her out of her car seat and guess what! It was EVERYWHERE (and I think you all know what I am talking about!)! All up her back down her legs and a pool in her car seat! Then the worst part is at the rest stop there wasn't a changing station or room on the counter to clean her up! So I resorted to a very small bench in the restroom! Well to make matters worse I didn't realize that when Maggie was playing in her diaper bag before we left for the trip that she had taken out her wipes (which was a brand new full container I had just put in her bag)! So I had nothing to clean her up with! I eventually stripped her of her clothes and grabbed a roll of toilet paper got it wet with hand soap and water and gave her a rest stop bathroom sponge bath!

I am sure there will be more incidents like that, but I also hope I never have to deal with it again!

Anyways.....once we arrived at the cabin it was HEAVEN! The weather was wonderful compared to the last time we were up, and the mosquito's really weren't as bad as I had expected! Ryan mostly helped my dad work on the bathroom remodel (the main purpose of us going up) but we still had time to relax and enjoy the mountains!
My sweet Girl!

The beautiful view of the river!

Of course Brooke was always in the water being herself and having fun!

And we actually got some good pics of a moose this time! It was fun to watch it because it was splashing around and playing in the water!

Maggies 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my little Button Button is one! Arrggg! How can you other parents handle this! I just want her to stop growing for just a minute so I can enjoy these stages a little longer! Sigh.....

Anyways! For her party we had a chicken theme! Everyone who knows us now, knows that we suddenly have an obsession with chickens! (Ladies if you don't want your husbands to pick up this hobby, then steer them clear of speaking with Ryan because I can guarantee he will try to talk them into raising them!)

We invited family and close friends to her party for some burgers on the grill, some delicious cake that my bro (the pastry chef) made and some chicken scratch (candy) for everyone to take home with them.

I also made these cute little chick cake pops! They were yummy! (but a pain in the but to make! Lets just say I won't be making them again anytime soon!)

The Chicken Cakes

Maggie was HILARIOUS when it came time for her to dig into her smash birthday cake! She spared no expense when it came to digging right into it! I have to say with all the 1st birthday parties I have been to I have never seen any child dive into the cake like Maggie did! I loved it!

She even picked up the cake to eat it!

After the cake and a good wash down in the tub Maggie opened presents! She got many great gifts, but especially loved the little bench that Ryan's parents gave her. Her cousin Mary even joined her to sit on it!

The best part of the night was at the end of the party Maggie actually started walking! Ahhhhhh! My baby is no longer a baby but a toddler! She really is growing up too fast!

Thanks everyone for your support and coming to the party! We love you all!
